That’s one secret he’ll never tell… until now.
Travis Kelce might give off jock energy due, in no small part, to his role as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, but back in the day he had a very surprising guilty pleasure show.
“I used to not tell everybody that I watched Gossip Girl growing up,” the 34-year-old revealed on the Sept. 25 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast. “Yeah, it’s so good, dude. You can get in deep. You can get in deep.”
Travis’ older brother wasn’t familiar with the hit CW teen drama, wondering if Taylor Swift’s boyfriend had confused the title with another hit teen series.
“You watched Gossip Girl?” Jason asked Travis. “I’ve never watched it. Are you talking about Gilmore Girls? What show is Gossip Girls?”
As Travis explained of the show’s stars, “My guy Chace Crawford. Blake Lively. Shoot me, but I forget the rest of the names of the cast. It’s awesome. It’s a New York high school show with a lot of drama and basically everybody gossiping and talking s--t on each other.”
Gossip Girl, which ran for six seasons from 2007 to 2012, followed the glamorous lives and drama of the Manhattan elite and also starred Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, Taylor Momsen and more.
Of course, Travis knows Blake all too well, thanks to the actress’ friendship with his pop star girlfriend. In fact, Serena van der Woodsen’s real-life counterpart attended Travis’ Super Bowl winning game back in February alongside the “So High School” singer.
When it comes to the phrase “guilty pleasure show” now, the Grotesquerie star noted, “I don’t care. You can’t judge me,” adding that his favorite show currently on air is The Traitors.
As for the rest of the Kelce family, they have an affinity for two major shows from across the pond.
“Great British Bake-Off, every time a new season comes out we sit down and watch that,” Jason said of him and wife Kylie Kelce. “It’s fantastic, and Task Master.”
